Web 2.0
Wordle is a site found on the internet that allows categories to be created using "word clouds". The words can be related to any category. The site takes words given by the user and randomly creates a "word cloud" incorporating all the words. The main key words are provided in a larger text allowing viewers to see these words easier. The site is easy to use and also allows key concept words to be developed for a fun display and even used as a review in the classroom.
I have used this in my classroom and have also had students create these as a review when they are studying words. When they understand the word they include it in their wordle. The students enjoy using this as a review tool and also enjoy seeing their wordle on the classroom wall. Using this tool also meets many of the technology requirements for each grade level. It allows students the opportunity to learn more about a computer but also how to create something original using a website.

This is a wordle with my students' names on it - they LOVE seeing their name and where it ends up when I change the style and fonts.

This is one I created with titles of popular kid book titles scrambled - I have used this in the past and had students find the titles and then find the book in the library (teaching library skills on how to locate a book when you only know one or two words in the title).
